About PZAF

Postgraduate ZooArchaeology Forum (PZAF) is a conference organized by and for postgraduate/graduate students and early-career professionals in the field of zooarchaeology. With the help of PZAF students explore different research traditions and approaches, and get opportunity for academic networking among the wider community of upcoming zooarchaeologists.

Founded in 2009 by Richard Madgwick and first held in Cardiff (UK) the PZAF has been growing year after year and was hosted in Paris (France), Sheffield (UK), London (UK), Tarragona (Spain) and Toruń (Poland). The last, 7th PZAF, was held in Palermo (Italy). In October 2017 PZAF became an ICAZ (International Council for ArchaeoZoology) Affiliated Group.

Today PZAF is internationally recognized conference with delegates from various countries. In 2019, for the first time in the conference’s history, PZAF will take place outside of Europe. The present host-city is Yerevan, the capitol of Armenia.
